Muheeto ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Muheeto mobile application and website (muheeto.com). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services. We are committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and applicable data protection regulations.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, phone number, and residential address (used for neighborhood verification only — never displayed publicly). We also collect usage data such as app interactions, feature usage patterns, and device information (device type, operating system, app version). We do not collect biometric data, financial information, or precise GPS coordinates.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: verify your neighborhood residency and connect you with your community; provide, maintain, and improve our services; send service-related notifications (maintenance alerts, community updates); personalize your experience based on your neighborhood; communicate with you about updates and changes to our services; ensure the security and integrity of our platform; and comply with legal obligations under UAE law.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following cases: with other verified residents in your neighborhood (only your display name and neighborhood — never your exact address); with service providers who assist in operating our platform (hosting, analytics), bound by data protection agreements; when required by UAE law, regulation, or legal process; and to protect the rights, safety, and property of Muheeto, our users, or the public.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including access controls, regular security audits, and data minimization practices. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your information in accordance with UAE data protection standards.
6. Your Rights
Under the UAE PDPL, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate personal data; request deletion of your personal data; withdraw consent for data processing; request restriction of processing; data portability; and lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office. 7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance or legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).

Muheeto is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete that data promptly.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data is primarily processed within the UAE. If data needs to be transferred internationally, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place as required by UAE data protection law, including standard contractual clauses and adequacy assessments.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of Muheeto after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
